The venue is run by husband and wife team Vinnie aka 'the Warden' & Sue who have years of experence in the leisure industry. They have for the last three years, through their hard work and finiancial investment, turned around the clubs fortunes. The venue has become a central meeting place for the people of Shaw, Crompton and surrounding areas over the years. Formally known as the Tara Sports & Leisure Centre, the venue now includes two excellent function rooms that cater for media talks and screenings as well as private functions - conferences, business trainings, book launches, Christmas private dinners, engagement parties, wedding parties, Christening, birthdays, the list is endless.

Tara Bars and Leisure Centre has an ideal location of one and a half miles from Shaw town centre, making Tara function rooms the perfect venue for unique, corporate or private events and has a stylish, completely adaptable setting. The venue stretches over two floors with an exclusive entrance and a private bar. The venue is a blank canvas that can be shaped and customised to suite each events particular requirements. The onsite events team works closely alongside the client to create the best possible event and satisfied customer. These are just some of the steps we take to make sure what we deliver is of the best quality.

Along with the rather good function suites there are sixteen quality snooker tables and two Americian pool tables. When it comes to watching live sports at the Tara Bars and Leisure Centre is second to none with two twelve foot screens along with four HD ready TVs, so whether its the United v City derby match or Test match cricket from all corners of the globe, Tara is the place to be.

Then there is the Jb's live music which takes centre stage every so often with the finest Jazz, Blues, Funk and World music available 'JB's' is a floating evening of just superb quality world music. With a collective group of people providing live music, MC and DJ, you will enjoy some superb musicianship and cool company.Who says you have to drive all the way into Manchester city centre to hear great world? You’d be hard-pressed to find better music than here at Jb's Club.
